New Security Measures?
A recent credit card statement includes a check that can be used "once activated." There is a note about activation that says
ATTENTION: THE ATTACHED CHECK CANNOT BE USED UNTIL YOU CONFIRM THAT YOU HAVE RECEIVED IT. PLEASE CALL 1-800-XXX-XXXX FROM THE U.S. AND CANADA.Wow! I'm glad that credit card companies are getting better about security but I have to call twice? Once from the U.S. and once from Canada? I would think that down here in Texas I could at least substitute Mexico for Canada as the second country. Oh well, I guess I need to book a flight to Canada.
